The Tokaj region is historically regarded for its first-class dessert wines. At Királyudvar today, we find the climatic conditions to be just as ideal for producing our estate-produced Sec, a full-bodied dry white wine that captures the essence of Királyudvar - our dedication to quality, appreciation for terroir and innovative winemaking. "The sugar levels of the fruit in Tokaj are naturally high. Our initial struggle to produce a world-class dry wine was to find ripe berries unaffected by botrytis with lower levels of sugar. Over time, we have discovered that in particular vineyards the onset of botrytis consistently occurs late in the season. Sec is a well-integrated, crafted blend from independently vinified wines across
our diverse vineyard terroirs in Tokaj. Each component wine of the Sec is individually
barrel-fermented and barrel-aged to precision before contributing its unique personality
to the final harmonious blend. |
