notes: This late-harvest
wine, a true family estate selection, is sourced exclusively from our 25 year-old
vines sitting at an elevation of 230 meters on the highest terraces in the Lapis
vineyard. Harvested late in the season on November 21st, the fruit is a mixture
of healthy ripe berries and well-shrivelled berries without botrytis. At harvest,
the sugar content of the berries reached an astonishing 261 g/l. A
lighter shade of yellow with silver notes in the glass carrying with it a scent
of white flowers on the nose, the wine begins quietly on the palate; subtle citrus
and candied fruit confit flavors are complemented by hints of mint and tobacco.
Slowly taking on weight and strength, the wine remains balanced and harmonious
where a racy acidity guides the palate through multiple layers of complexity.
A pronounced minerality accentuates a steely backbone, a signature of Lapis. Over
time, this wine should continue to impress. Production:
