notes: Ideal growing conditions
resulted in a late vintage harvest of highly concentrated Lapis berries with extraordinarily
high sugar levels. In our '02 follow-up to the acclaimed '99 release, we offer
a golden Aszú with a fresh classic Tokaj nose. This serious wine is rich but delicate
on the palate with a long gentle finish. The consistent Lapis traits of structured
power and stony minerality are fully expressed with a touch of white peaches and
elderberries. This tactile wine provides pure pleasure in the mouth and already
is quite drinkable. At the 2007
Pannon Competition, which featured the top 50 wines in Hungary, this wine was
awarded the Grand Prix and declared by an internationally juried panel the best
wine of Hungary.
