The single-vineyard Lapis Aszú represents our dedication to bring winemaking and quality in Tokaj to even higher levels. The idea and reality of this modern Aszú wine, where the berries used for both the base wine and the Aszú wine are from the same vineyard, was first pioneered by Királyudvar in its stellar '99 Lapis single-vineyard bottling. The initial idea was to showcase an area within the Lapis vineyard which displayed exceptional Aszú quality and unique expression of the terroir. Stemming from this award-winning single-vineyard bottling, we have continued to cultivate a special Aszú production from the mid-terrace Lapis plots and showcase the flagship Lapis single-vineyard Aszú. internationally-acclaimed dessert Lapis Aszú remains the standard for exceptional
quality in the Tokaj region of Hungary. At the same time, the company has also
succeeded in presenting one of the special terroirs of Tokaj to the world. |
