Wine notes:

In a vintage that saw a sudden late-ripening of the berries, the '02 Ilona is a world-class wine that shows precision within its complexity. The layered aromas of exotic spices, fruit resin and lychee are accented by a touch of honey. On the palate, abundant flavors of fresh fruit continue where the nose leaves off. Creamy roundness in the mouth is balanced by lively acids. A well-integrated release with a long, flattering finish. It is shaping up to be the best cuvée of the decade.
