In
our Tokaji Aszú, the traditional famous dessert wine of the region, we offer a
rich, powerful wine with beautiful golden colors, an expressive bouquet and layers
upon layers of wonderful flavors. Supporting the style that has remained true
to the vineyard practices and winemaking at Királyudvar, the minerality in this
wine reflects the essence of the company's first-class vineyards. Királyudvar's
Aszú wines are consistently produced at natural 6 Puttonyos (a minimum of 150
grams per liter of residual sugar) sweetness levels. To consistently reach these
levels, we must patiently wait until late into the harvest season to handpick
the botrytized berries. The risks from frost and poor weather become exponentially
higher each extra day that the berries are left on the vine. By carefully selecting
the Aszú berries one at a time and using outstanding quality base wine as the
fermenting must, we ensure that each release will be worthy of the time and energy
put forth in this effort. Each
individual Aszú wine is aged a minimum of three years prior to release (two years
in Hungarian oak barrels and one year in the bottle) allowing for the proper development
of the wine. These dessert wines, fully enjoyable today by itself or with creamy
cheeses, custards and richer cakes, should continue to age nobly over decades
with proper cellaring. Please click on a link below for a particular
